For those of you lucky enough to work your tastebuds at this year’s Taste of Melbourne you’ll be certain of one thing- Melbourne tastes GREAT. Held at Pelican’s Lawn in Albert Park, TOM 2013 was filled with Melbourne’s culinary elite- featuring top restaurants such as Mamasita, Movida, Chin Chin, Albert St Food & Wine and Longrain + many more.
Thousands of people flocked to the four day festival to sample the delicious food on offer which was served ‘tapas-style’. The idea is to showcase some of Melbourne’s best restaurants in the one location so that you can have a ‘taste’ of all of them and therefore a taste of Melbourne.
I don’t know about you guys but this was absolute culinary heaven for me since pretty much everything here was on my wish list!
With massive lines at each stand and dishes upon dishes being served up left right and centre I was amazed at the quality of the food and the presentation- everything was delicious and it was almost impossible to choose from the amazing menus!
Standout dish was without a doubt Burch & Purchese’s Nitro Summer Fizz which was just all-round excitement on a plate. The raspberry ice-cream was made using nitrogen which was awesome to watch and it was so light and fluffy. Have you ever pictured eating a cloud? I’d say it would be like eating B&P’s Nitro Fizz.
