I was lucky enough to experience the wonderful culture and food of Thailand last year, so having such a great Thai restaurant close to home is very handy whenever I’m craving the beautiful flavours of Thai cuisine.

Caroline Thai is located on a busy stretch of Caroline Springs Boulevard and it doesn’t matter what day or time you pass by, there are always plenty of people inside. And for good reason- you really can’t go wrong with anything you order here! It’s even expanded in recent years taking over the old Indian restaurant next door.

Beef Massaman Curry, $16.9

Beef Massaman Curry, $16.9

One of my favourite dishes here is the Massaman Curry. You can choose between Vegetable, Chicken, Beef or Seafood but I always choose the beef because it’s so tender and just melts in your mouth.

Seafood Pad Thai, $16.9

If you’re a little befuddled as what to order from the tonnes of dish options on the menu, you can’t go wrong with a pad thai. Like with nearly every other dish, you have the option of Vegetarian, Meat or Seafood. My favourite is seafood which I have always found to be flavoursome, well cooked and just all-round yumminess on a plate.

Seafood Tom Yum, $9.90

Seafood Tom Yum, $9.90

If you’re after something small to start with don’t be fooled by the tiny-looking soups on the menu, my Tom Yum was actually a really good serving and very filling! I loved the balance of sweet and sour flavours. Perfect for the cold weather!

Satay Chicken, $7.9

Satay Chicken, $7.9

The chicken skewers are a good starting option, I couldn’t fault them- the satay sauce is really one of the best out there and the chicken itself was juicy and tender, just the way it should be.

Banana Fritters, $8.5

Banana Fritters, $8.5

If you’ve still got room, make sure your order one of Caroline Thai’s adorable desserts! Not the greatest example above (don’t be rude :P) but the banana fritters are delicious as is the black sesame rice pudding which is my favourite dessert here. It’s served warm with a sweet sauce and ice-cream and is just yummy.

So sweet 🙂

Must Try:

– Pad Thai
– Massaman Curry
– Panang Curry
– BBQ Combination
– Roti Bread
– Coconut Rice
– Black Sesame Sticky Rice

Tips & Tricks:

  • The menu is designed for sharing- a lot of the dishes are too much for one person so best to bring a couple of friends to get a good tasting of the menu (there are also great banquets available)
  • The coconut/steamed rice is re-fillable, free of charge
  • I always make a booking when I come here as it can get very busy. Ideal times to come without one would be weeknights and lunch as weekends are pretty hectic.
